What color rims would look better on a black bike?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i can't believe i'm replying in this thread, but here you go.

have never been a fan of silver rims. black anondized rims are the way to go in my book.

that said, my fanciest set of wheels are ksyrium ssl 2s that came as stock on my tcr comp. had i known that the 06 tcr comp 0's came with the ES i might have waited.

When the Elites went to silver,i think last year and i saw them on a few bikes they looked very sharp. Black rims and silver spokes still look pretty darn good.

I'm putting black Mike Garcia Niobium rims on my black felt with black hubs and black spokes... I AM putting silver nipples on them though. However, I'm thinking about a poll for the best color nipples to go with black rims, spokes, and hubs.

Sounds cool. I used all black myself. The only thing silver is the braking surface, but I think silver nipples would be a nice touch.

It depends on the bike. On my Scott CR1 I like the look of black rims with silver spokes, black hubs and silver nipples. My newest set that I am still waiting to be complete is custom; black rims black spokes, polished H1 hubs and red nipples. It's going to be interesting to see how this setup will look. I also just ordered som silver Neuvation R28's which are all silver and I am going to mount some red Pro Race 2 tires on them. I think this setup will look great. Here is my currentl setup:

Here is my setup with black rims, silver spokes, black hubs, black nipples on the front, and alternating black/silver nipples on the back:

My personal favorite would be Black Rims with Black Nipples, Silver Spokes and Silver Hubs, but that would have to be custom made.....

Hey..., maybe I should?

Neither. Take a look at the dark grayish-brown anodizing that Mavic uses on their OPCD clincher rims and their Reflex tubbies. They fit into a dark/black color scheme well, while providing some interesting contrast. They also look better because they are anodized *after* the brake surfaces are machined.

Also, Velocity has a special order ano called matte ti gray--very sweet and classy. Way nicer than black.

Red.

As in the Velocity Aerohead rim.

Toss in some black spokes and silver nipples with either black or silver hubs and it'll look awfully nice.

Mike Garcia can make these for you - $339 for the pair and right around 1500 grams.

Red rims...hmm...intrigueing. Maybe hard to find?

BTW, I do have Red Vittoria Open Corsas tires.

I only bought red because they were 1/2 off and the last set left at an LBS.
