new saddle choice
recently had a pro bike fit (Wobble Naught). Fitter didn't want to use my Brooks as the rails were too short (I also had brought my Fizik Arione and he sort of "chose" it between the two). He also put a setback post on the bike, raised the saddle a bit, and slightly lowered my bars. The new position is not TDF extreme, but different than what I'm used to. It actually feels pretty good and I notice I'm using bigger gears most of the time (I just started back for the season, so it's definetly not because I'm in good shape). Only problem is considerable pressure in the groin. I get the feeling that if I could use my Brooks, all would be well in the new position (but of course I can't because of the short rails), or if I could find a more comfortable saddle for this position. I am looking at the Selle SMP Strike and the Specialized Toupe. Unfortunately no shop around here sells these so a test is out of the question. Has anybody tried either or both and can give me their feedback? Or suggest another? Thanks so much in advance and sorry for the long post>

I have been on a quest to find a comfortable saddle and have gone through about 8 models in the last 8,000 miles. I have tired the Toupe and Arione and while they are excellent choices for many, they didn't do the job for me on rides over 2 hours long.
If you were pleased with your Brooks you need to find a different seat post or other way to get it onto your bike. You might look into the Selle An-atomica that is very much like a Brooks but it has a frame that allows for a a longer set-back.

Terry Fly. I've already done a century on this saddle and my rear end still didn't hurt. 3 other saddles I tried caused pain in less than 50 miles.

Make sure the Arione is perfectly level as a starting point, a few degrees can impact on comfort, so make small adjustments
