Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Winwood Handlebars:Opinions and Pics

I am considering getting the winwood ergo handlebars for a Cervelo Soloist that is being built by my LBS. I would welcome some opinions(pros/cons) and pics as soon as possible as the build will be starting next tuesday. I had the FSA K-Wing on my previous bike which I have to replace due a recent crash. The bar does not show any visible damage, but the LBS advises against using it since it is carbon and could have sustained a crack that is not visible.

I've had mine about 4 months. Sorry too lazy to get my camera, but seach e-bay and the pictures there are what mine look like.

Seem to be good quality. The only thing that has happened is one of the "little carbon things" that hold your brake cables under the bars busted off, so the cable hangs down slightly. Not a big deal and haven't gotten around to doing anything about it.

I have this bar on my soloist-best upgrade I've done -super stiff on climbs, but no road buzz. Ergo tops are amazing. I'll never go back to a round bar.

Are these similar to the IRD B2's? Looks like they have a slight downward sweep from the stem. Is that desireable?
