Comfortable but light saddles?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Comfortable but light saddles?

Hey everyone-
I'm wanting to get a new saddle for my road bike. I want it to be comfortable but also light. Any suggestions?

The Fizik Aliante is AWESOME, at least for me. The carbon fiber railed version is super comfy, very bling, and 180-190g.

Comfort depends a lot on your fitness level, weight, and the shape of your rear end.

I got the same saddle but it hasn't been all that comfortable until I switched to a micro adjust seatpost. I lowered the nose by about 3 mils and what a difference. I test rode a Fondriest with the Gel version and that felt really good, I may snap up one of those for my Century.

I switched to an Selle Italia SLK gelflow - its the saddle I've spent my life looking for! whilst it might be a shade heavy (about 200g) - time lost trying to keep different positions on a saddle, its looks, and not losing the ability to have kids made it worth it

The SLR is freaking awesome.

They tend to be a bit over their "claimed" weight.

SelleSanMarco ASPide Night Train. Same saddle on tree different bikes.
Weights in at around 140g. I think the Night Train is discontinued,
but the composite and FX are both light weighted

I have a Specialized Toupe. It works for me. Maybe it will for you.

Maybe not.

Try one out.

I like my new Fizik Arione. Weight ranges from about 180 - 240 g, depending on model. Base model comes in cool colors. I've got blue with silver stripe down middle. Can get base model for $110 at biketiresdirect.com Nice review article at: https://www.bikesportmichigan.com/reviews/arione.shtml
