Bibs are the best thing to happen to cycling

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bibs are the best thing to happen to cycling

since wheels.

Just got a pair of Performance Ultimate Bibs and I don't think I'll be able to wear shorts again. I took em for a 35 mile spin today and didn't once think about anything other than the ride (except for when I had to fix a flat). No chaffing, slipping or anything. Great product.

You learned the value of the stretchy material. After, I hope, finding an appropriate venue.

Did you have a lot of these issues with shorts. I don't recall having to do anything with my shorts during a ride. Maybe shorts just fit me well but I don't get paying $10-20 more for an item that doesn't cause me any issues. "If it aint broke don't fix it" I think bibs and shaving your legs fall into the same category for a lot of cyclist.

Indeed, I ride for a living and own zero "cycling" clothes cept for shoes, at least what many "cyclists" consider to be cycling clothes anyway. Today it was army camo pants(50% cotton oh the horror !!), a t-shirt(also part cotton), bandana, ankle socks or "socklets" as I call em, and bike shoes.I rack up a bunch of miles too, more than most from what Ive seen. Spend enough time in the saddle riding and even the typical american style couch potato butt can be comfortable no problem.

I have problems with the waistband of shorts "rolling down" on me, so I'm a bib fan.

I agree with OP, bibbs help me a lot. Im losing weight but the belly is the last to go and shorts cn be problematic. Of course after Sundays 64 miles (my longest yet) not much was comfortable anyway but I had too many layers for bibs so shorts it was.

Amen brother. Bibs rule. I'll just use the term "joint management".
