Weather - so frustrating
After a couple of weeks of pleasanter weather here in the UK - enough to make a start on a tan! - its now decided that lots of rain is the way to go. As a consequence I've not managed to get any riding in in over a week, while really feeling the need to. I suppose it makes you regret all those times when the weather was nice and yet the attitude was 'I don't really feel like it'. Then yesterday the rain held off but the grey skies combined with the 20mph winds still made it an entirely unappealing prospect.
To top it all I now have my first ever club kit, which is sweet - makes me feel like I belong.
In theory the timing of the weather is not a bad thing, have exams starting on friday, but we know that means once the exam period actually starts that the sun will come out and the skies will be blue, untill the 9th of June when the heavens will open again just to rub it in.
Still, hopefully doing my first big organised ride on the 11th, 150km of pretty hilly roads, and will have a 20km ride to get home to pick it up to a century.
Well, I think I'm all done, really ought to take advantage of the weather and do some work. Or browse some more threads.

Bloody weather, I'm really cheesed off with it. No riding all last week, and none this coming week either by the look of it. Suppose I could go back to swimming. Won't even need to go to a pool.

we just had about a week of showers, thunderstorms, and steady rain. followed up by unseasonable cold weather and high wind gusts.
it sucks but you gotta view it as part of cycling. riding in those conditions IS the challenge, similar to suffering on a long climb. it's just another factor to riding.

We've had lots'o'rain and wind in Philly lately. Wind was in the high teens with gusts of 25mph today, but I still got in 20 miles. Sunday had some wind and I almost got caught in the rain on my 30-miler. I got lucky on Friday, missing the rain by minutes, but I was dressed for it, with long water/windproof tights and vented rain jacket.
Gotta get some bad weather clothing, and make the most of it IMO.

I finally understand what all the surfers were talking about with the "depression" they get when they can't go surfing. (And biking on a trainer just ain't cuttin' it)

it has rained here every day for 9 days! We had flooding in some areas.. it's been horrible. The farmer's almanac actually predicted this. But what's really frustrating is that my spring has been such a bust for riding- when the weather was nice, i wasn't able to ride then it would rain for three days. THen two weeks ago i had a virus and that killed it for a few days. GAH! I feel like I'm growing mold here! ANd it's such a waste too, the days are really getting long- but it rains all day! Finally today it's stopped actually raining and the weather is supposed to get better and better this week.I was thinking of getting a ride... but the 50k gusts are kind of putting me off a bit. I think FINALLY tomorrow....as for being tanned, I must be as white as a leper!

I looked at the 10 day forecast the morning and realized I should probably do some work on by bike with fenders since it's gonna see a lot of use.
