Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Portland Folks - Need your help

My wife, daughter, and I are coming to the PacNW in October as a vacation. We will probably be visiting both Portland and Seattle as we have friends in both areas, and will most likely be flying into PDX.

I'd like to do a ride while there, either an organized rally or a social BF type.

Are there any good org rides in October up there?

We have a website here in Texas with info on all the organzied rides in Texas, but I have not found anything like that for Oregon.

Thanks in advance,
Fred

https://www.pwtc.com/ This is the link for the Portland Touring Wheelmen bike club

https://www.cascade.org/Home/ This is Cascades Bike Club in Seattle

They both have mega schedules of club ride, and many links to event rides, bike racing teams and other clubs. See what you can find, you are bumping into the rainy season in October, schedules tend to taper off then.

Have fun, bring raingear.

yeah October is pushing it for biking season. The harvest century was in October I think. If Jakey responds in this thread, he'll know if rides are scheduled that late in the season.
