We're going to yell at you.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We're going to yell at you.

Probably been covered but...

It has come to my notice that:
  1. a great deal of what is yelled at you in races is self-serving bull,
  2. there are way too many 'coaches' jibbering a stream of advice to everyone else,
  3. a lot of it is wrong, and
  4. the people who know what they are talking about tend to speak loudly rather than yelling.

its human nature for people to take criticism poorly and think the loud speaker with valuable information is just a prick yelling at me. later.

I know it's not free, but it doesn't have to be that expensive

You either decide to be a 4 or not. Go race. Repeat a few times. Done.

So I feel totally indoctrinated -er something: I got yelled at last night. Tuesday night championships (aka Meridian business park) is a ~2mi loop that gets lot of people (I imagine it's like Rose Bowl or Prospect Park --last night there were probably 50-75 people). Anyhoo, folks who get popped can wait at the top of the hill to latch back on when the group comes around again. Rookie Me, I get back on with three guys in a mini-break instead of the back of the main pack. Oops. As I blow up on the north side and tumble away, someone barks, "If you get dropped you can't get back on at the front" --I couldn't even grunt an acknowledgment, but I felt shame. Duh, totally makes sense.

Sorry guys, my bad...

I only wish I could run into the clown that posted this almost 4 years ago. You yell at me and I'll stick my pump in your front spokes in return. Why? Because I can't stand the enormous ego that oozes from this post.
If you're so strong, what the hell are you doing in Detroit? Maybe you and your friends should stop pretending to be racers and get out and do the real thing. Then you'll know what it's really like.

Can somebody remove this useless post? It's been on this forum for years and we're getting sick and tired of seeing it.

This is honestly the first thread I ever read on this forum, and if this thread can still get responses such as yours; I think it is serving it's purpose.

You know, I just realized this thread is about 30 pages behind the Addiction thread. That is a travesty.
