Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Felt F65 or Trek 2100???

I'm down to choosing between 2 bikes.... Felt 65 and Trek 2100.... I'm 6'5" 230 so I need a 63 cm frame. Will one bike suit be better.... Any suggestions???

Thanks,

Ben

I love my old Felt, and love my new Felt. Ride them both and see what you like better.

I'm biased towards the Felt. I have the Felt F75 and love it. Great bike!

Independent of fit, either bike will be a good choice. Factor in fit and the choice will be clear... at least I hope it will be . Good luck Ben, and remember to test ride as many bikes as you can.

Canned answer I know but worthy of repeating.

The F65 is a really good model this year. They improved the wheelset and went compact, its a very good bike. I have to 05 and like it alot. Just dont call it the 'F-Bomb' that's my bikes name

Another one for Felt.Fast bikes! Untortunately I sold my perfectly good one for no reason, now have to get another one.
Trek maybe good bikes but the cheaper ones just don't stand out in the looks department

A 63 seems awfully big. I'm 6'4" and ride a 59 steel Bianchi and 59 Merlin Proteus.

I have a Scott S20 and a Felt F90 (my starter bike). The Felt felt a lot more comfortable than the Treks I tried out and it looked better too, as a matter of fact, my Felt is a perfect fit.

P.S. I'm not a Trek hater, I also have a Trek 7200FX which is also a great bike.

The Trek is a great bike, but so is the Felt. The F65 is full Ultegra where as the 2100 is 105/Ultegra mix. That alone would lean me toward the F65. The F65 is actually on par with the Trek 2300. For the cost of the 2300, you could buy the full Dura Ace equipped Felt F55. How the bike fits you is even more important. However, if you like the fit of both, go for the F65.

The Trek is a great bike as is the Felt. However, the Felt F65 is full Ultegra while the 2100 is Ultegra 105/ mix. The F65s equivalent is actually the Trek 2300. However ffor the cost of the 2300, you can basically buy the Dura-Ace equipped Felt F55.Try both and buy the one that fits you best. IMO the F65 is the better buy.

The F65 does have Ultegra FD and RD and possibly cassette and chain (didn't get a good look), but the crankset and brakes are not Ultegra so in my book it's not "full" Ultegra. Although the crankset looks like a nice one and it is carbon (FSA Omega). Felt has some really good specs/price. Like I said, I love my F75!
