Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you don't have any objection to buying something from the UK you should check out www.probikekit.com. There you will find Shimano Ultegra pedals or the PD-540SL pedals (105) both for less than $100 pr.

Another vote for the SPD-SL at the Ultegra level...they can be had in the US for around $85 if you feel wierd about probikekit.com. I have seen the Keo Sprint at about the same price and they are also supposed to be a very good pedal.

I'll second the Ultregra pedals. I bought mine last year on Ebay for like $89 (new) if you can get them for under $100 that includes shipping you have a great pedal.

The 105's are good, but a little heavier than the Ultregra, but I had those on my last bike and put about 2,000 on the pedals no problem.
