Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Helmet Recommendation

Hello,
I am having a problem finding the right helmet.
I currently have the Giro Eclipse in their largest size.
I fits very well and the roc-loc system makes for easy adjustments.
My problem since I have an egged shaped head is that it sits too high.
I need a deeper helmet.
Does any one know any helmets that are designed for us egg-heads?

Thanks

egg head?

wouldn't call myself an egg head, but helmets do tend to sit a little higher on me than others. i've been using a pneumo and an atmos for the last few years.

Get an LAS.

They seem to fit the Egg-heads pretty good.

I can't comment on fit for an "egg" shaped head but I'm very impressed with a couple of features on the Catlike Kompact helmet. High density foam and a well designed, all encompasing microshell are pluses in my book. Worth trying one on if you find them.

Regards, Anthony

There are two basic helmet/hat shapes: round and long-oval. Giro and Bell switch off head shapes every couple of years so you only need to look at the upper end of both to find out which one is using which shape each year.

My Bell Alchera seems to fit a lot deeper than any otherhelmet I have owned. I almost feel like it's on my eyebrows! I don't like the way I can't get the side straps to lay flat, though, but if you don't mind that it should fit fine.

The last I heard the Giro was round and the Bell was oval.

+1 for Catlike. My head is more oval than round, and it fits like a glove.
