Malibu/Zuma PCH Riders
Was thinking of riding from Santa Monica to Zuma a couple Sundays from now. Never done it before. When checking online it looks like last Fall they were doing some road work on PCH that caused a couple cyclists to lose their lives due to some barricades that forced them into speedy traffic. Do you know if that construction or any other construction is still going on on that stretch of PCH? Any other thoughts on the safety of that stretch of PCH? I'm really coming from Northridge (planning on taking Sepulveda over the hill to Santa Monica), so any other suggested (safe) routes to Zuma also would be appreciated.

I can't comment on PCH but if you are heading out of Northridge, I would think a better route would take you north through Calabasas to Mulholland and the Santa Monicas. There are multiple ways to get to PCH through there that would be much nicer than riding the busy coast route. Good views, great climbs.
