Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Roomate's crazy Lemond Frankenbike.

my roomate has a mechanic friend who works in a fancy portland bike shop, so said mechanic gets deals and new stock parts when they are upgraded on other bikes. mechanic guy built up a complete frankenbike of great mismatched parts. very cool

frame: 06 lemond sarthe frame
fork: straight bladed aluminum fork off a specialized langster
wheelset: hand made using mavic open pros, NICE
rear der: shimano deore
front der: shimano 105
brakeset: 105, one silver, one black
shifters: tiagra
stem: cannondale stock
bar: bianchi stock
seatpost: some expensive suspension post, looks nice
seat: specialized, not sure what kind, looks low profile and aero though.
cranks: 105 double

If it works and it's cheap, then good luck.

do me a favor and find out what model the saddle is and post it. "low profile" sounds like just what i need.

Rims, spokes, frame tubes, etc - can't believe I completely forgot to get an aero saddle. Bet that'll take some time off my next ITT!

I remember there was a thread back a while ago about a Japanese guy (i think) with a crazy awesome road bike. He had a Campy left brake with Shimano on the right, and he changed front gears with a stick. His wheels were hilarious as well, I don't remember specifics. Anyone got a link?
