Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looking for a bike stand

I'm looking for a small tripod type stand to use on my bikes when I wash them. It's a pain to set up my repair stand just for that. Any suggestions?

I find that anything less than the repair stand and it won't hold up while I wash.

I do like my Ultimate stand as it is light and is easy to take out of the basement repair area to the back yard to wash.

https://www.nashbar.com and look for NA-SBM

They're down to < $10 at the moment - good value!

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong. Is there a repair stand that the BF group finds better than others? I have an uber cheap park unit that I don't like.

I am fond of my Spin Doctor G3 Pro repair stand, often selling for $ 139 on sale at Performance. In terms of a wash rack, I bought a cheap ($10) wall mount folding bicycle rack at Target and mounted it to a fence post on my backyard fence. I put the bikes on the rack, wash them and fold the rack up against the post.

and thought not a tripod, i've found that the repair stand i upgraded to the G3 FROM (the performance brand 'essential stand' for ~$45) makes for a handy quickie stand for light duty, washing outside, etc.:
