Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I did it.

Thats what my 2 year old daughter says when she does something like getting her shoes on by her self.

Yesterday in +30 c heat I did a 80 Km ride and class one climb. I had never done a class one climb or gone 80 km before. The ride started in central Vancouver, down to sea level, to the north shore and up 2990 feet up Cypress Bowl. Then back. Round trip was 3.5 hours on my 24 lb Gios pushing 39/26. That was the touphest cycling I have ever done. I did it! Yay. Got up to 70 km / hour on some of the decent. Another 1st for me.
