Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Litespeed Seatpost

I just purchased a Litespeed Firenze from Colorado Cyclist and am in need of a seat post. Of course weight does matter, so I would like to buy something relatively lightweight. If you are a Litespeed owner or have had to purchase a 31.6mm seatpost please share with me what you bought, the price, and weight if possible. Thanks in advance. Ron

I was in need of a post recently for My Litespeed Siena, the first one I found that I liked was at my LBS (Adrenaline Bikes) Anyway it is a Guizzo zero set back. Weighs about the same as FSA but at half the price. The graphics are pretty cool to. Anyway I originally bought it just to get by but I'm thinking of sticking with it. Here is the link:

Thomson Elite

I just purchased a (built) Firenze and it came with this seatpost:

Looks like the MSRP is $90, but I'm sure it's available much cheaper.

My '06 Ultimate came with a carbon FSA seatpost. I'm sure that's also available farily cheap.

My Tuscany came fitted with a Bontrager Carbon Race X Lite ACC. This post has an Aluminium reinforcement tube to help prevent crushing and is fairly light (Bontrager claim 205g for a 250mm post). The adjustment mechanism isn't the easiet to use compared to some other brands though.
