Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How much does it worth

I'm trying to sell my stem, it's almost brand new. Been on a bike about 3 weeks (long story, lets just say I need a stem with steeper rise). It's 2006 Ritchey Pro. I posted it on craiglist asking $60 bucks, which is cheaper then at Performance. Alas no one is interested. Is the price too high?

Thanks.

Well, given that Performance has Ritchey Pro stems at $64.99, you're not offering much of a bargain. Take a look on Ebay and see what stuff goes for on there. I wouldn't start the listing at more then $20.

unless you REALLY need the cash i'd keep it. it's always good to have an extra stem or two around. same with saddles, tires, and pedals.

even if you might not need it, you never know when your cycling buddy shows up at your door asking if you have a spare part he can borrow.

Save up enough parts and eventually you'll build a second bike. And that's how the cycle begins.

The never ending "oh-my-god, I-just-gotta-build-another"...cycle.

6 in the last 2 years for me.

Hmm didn't think it depreciated in value by so much. I might as well keep it then. Always wanted to build a bike from scratch. Thanks for usefull suggestions.
As for the rest of the people who posted. Contact your proctologist and tell him you lost your head.
