Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Prayer for a fellow rider

Please keep a Doctor, Dr. Kerr, from one of the cycling clubs in my area in your prayers. On our ride today he went down really hard and was not breathing and had a faint heartbeat. Luckily two paramedics were in a care right close when it happened and they were able to do CPR until the ambulance arrived. We called 911 and an ambulance rushed him to the hospital. I don't know more than this right now but I will keep everyone posted if you can just keep him and his family in your prayers. Also, pray for the guys he rides with and a lady and her family who were in a car that had to stop very suddenly when he crashed into the other lane in front of them. They are pretty shaken up as well.

Update: Dr. Kerr is listed in critical but stable condition at local hospital. They did a CT and found no damage. He is still unconscious however. Keep praying for him and his family.

Absolutely. He just landed awkward on his face. Everyone I ride with wears a helmet. Same for the group the Doctor rides with.

All fingers and toes crossed.

Is it possible that he may have had a heart attack or stroke, causing him to fall? Or did he hit a pothole or something? Regardless, I am praying that he pulls through.

From what I can tell when we were riding, he hit a reflector at an odd angle with his front wheel at about 30MPH and it caused his bike to go squirrelly and he crashed.
