Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Depending on they type of riding you do. But I think the edge goes currently to Cervelo for its engineering and its track record in triathlons, and the TdF. The Guru Maestro is beautiful and has nice tube shapes, but Cervelo has the engineering to back it up.

Hawaii's Iron Man is this month. If you want, try that site after its all over and www.slowtwitch.com usually does a bike count to see which is most used. I think Cervelo will come out ahead.

What did you want, an apology? And if they were still made in Canada you wouldn't be able to get your hands on one.

I can vouch for my Cervelo R 2.5 and Super Prodigy. I like the innovation that this company brings to the road arena.

I find myself going past looking to actually touching the Gurus at my LBS...forgive me of my infidelity Gerald.

Is Blue Cycles Canadian? That is definately a bandwagon I could get on!

I stumbled on Aquila when I bought an older frame on ebay thinking it was Italian. Come to find out it's Canada. I haven't seen any new ones but my older frame is great. The new frames on the site look pretty sweet too. Here the only bike shop that I have found on the net that carries them.

I was at Sportif just last week. Good bunch of guys, nice 2 story shop, Aquila everywhere (and Ridley, Colnago, Pinarello, and more). Prices for Aquila are pretty reasonable too. I believe the store owner knows the guys that build the bikes and has input into their design.

Pecos is still around? Gee, they must be doing something right. I bought my first rear derailer there 30 years ago, Shimano Lark I think. It's still on my Mercier.

Now when I'm in Ottawa I shop at Full Cycle on St. Laurent. Yes they carry Gios

I think Rocky Mountain Bikes makes excellent road bikes - bikes.com. I looked at the Solo 10 and 30 when I was looking for a road bike. Handmade in Canada and the quality is really good it seems. They have a really good rep with MTBers.

If Rocky mountain builds road frames like the mountain bikes.. it will be one sweet ride. I have the MTB hardtail "BLIZZARD" steel, and they do a nice job on that. dont know about the parts pick on the RM roadbikes but the mountain bike came with lots of sweet Canada made syncros, and racface components. go Rocky!!!

I...............I..................I.................I have no opinion here! Although that Guru looks a little enticing on looks alone, but we know that is the least of what counts for those who want a great ride rather than looking good.

Nice pick, they make good stuff.

Here's another Cloud Rider Cloud Rider Screens. Made in Regina Sask. Often copied by bigger companies, never matched.

I suppose Integral Designs out of Calgary makes total crap products as well....

These are just a few consumer goods, never mind all the great industrial products produced in Canada.

What a maroon

Thanks for the link, looks to make decent products and does steel repairs alterations. I'm always interested in companies like this.

Remember, that a lot of these 'Made in Canada' bikes means that they're simply assembled here from Asian components. Some have their own frames, but many simply use stocks.

I am not trying to diss any of your decisions, cause there is nothing wrong with Taiwanese components.

Just wanting to bring up the point.
