Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1 for Marinoni...I've also heard great things about the Garneau and Devinci bikes. Note for a few extra $ you can get custom sizing and paint from Marinoni.
Keep in mind most of these 'Canadian' companies bikes are made off shore....Marinoni is probably the only one that still fabricates there frames here (metal frames only). Good luck with your search!!

Aluminum Devinci models are made in Canada, as Rocky (at least the Columbus tubed models).

Thanks for all the suggestions. Now Marioni is winning this so far if it were a pole. I sure would be nice to see them all lined up together to get a better feel for them.

I just saw probably the most obscure Canadian bike yet at the local Crit. A class 1/2 guy was riding a Wolf brand. Made in Ontario.

Don't be shy, get a Trek that's actually made somewhere up north!

Oops I forget, you're required by law to buy Canada - fly Air Canada, gas PetroCanada...

Besides, I haven't seen another Rocky on the road in my city
This week, I enjoyed an impromptu ride with another cyclist I had met on the road who was riding one of those. A sweet machine.

Dion Bikes made in Coquitlam. Used in top end triathalons.

https://www.truenorthcycles.com/ custom made, real nice

For carbon frame, try Marinoni's. THere is a european site that tests carbon fibre bikes for fatigue. They list every frame sent them that meets their top criteria. If i recall the only 2 that made the grade are Scott CR1 and Marinoni. The site is linked on Scott's site as its quite an endorsement

Edit: was more than 2, was 6. Heres link https://www.efbe.de/testergebnisse/fu...p?typ=3&sort=1

Opus and Devinci are kind of lower end IMO. Although Rocky is known more for their mountain bikes, they are absoutely world class/top of the line. I would guess their road line is much the same. Marinoni has always been a cool brand that always kind of sat under the radar. Miele is nothing. They used to make good steel bikes, but now they just make crap very low end kids bikes.
Canada has a lot of great bikes companys. Thanks for a great thread!!!!

Two things,

Norco is a marketing company, the bikes ARE NOT manufactured in Canada.

The frames are made in factories in Taiwan, China and Vietnam ( as are about 85% of all bike frames in the stores these days).

Definitely CAnadian built

There's a 57 cm Guru Carbino at Tom's Pro Bike in Lancaster, NY.

Full Record with Campy Neutrons.

I could pick it up for you.

I guess its insane for a Marinoni bike to have one single "Marinoni" sticker on it. WTF.

I love this attitude. "those bikes are all made in Taiwain...the following are made in Canada, eh...."

Please. The frame is one single part of a bike, and most bike parts are now made in Asia, at higher rates of quality than ever before. If parts manufacture was done in Canada, we'd all still be on steel cranks and 5-speed lever shifters.

It's ok, even if they were manufactured here (Factory in Burnaby B.C.) They are out of the running. To many very hot Canadian bikes to chose from.
