Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

saddle discoloration

I just got a red flite gel flow a week ago (great b-day present!)
I looked at it this morning before I went on a ride and I noticed that there was some discoloration just behind the nose on the right side
I have only ridden it 200 miles, have only washed it with soap and water (no degreasers or solvents), and have only used non-petroleum based chamois creams
Any body else have this problem? I tried the search function, but came up empty.
(I did email selle italia with the problem and pics and am waiting for a reply)

thanks

Its water damage, don't wash it, when I rode a lot in the rain, my Selle italia SLR Kit Carbonio started to lose its black colour on the spots that experienced the most wear, the water accelerates this.

I've got a white saddle that has become discoloured from the dye in my knicks....no point whining to the manufacturer about it...sweat + Friction = discolouration...big deal
