Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First - enjoy the ride. All conditions are leading to a fabulous event.

Second - strap your Livestrong band around your seatpost so we can recognize you out on the streets and do the secret wave or something.

We'd love to say hi and put as many faces to names as possible.

I'm doing it again this year; not sure if it's going to be one or 2 days, although I'm going to shoot for one. I have 2 hotel reservations for Saturday night - one in Portland and another somewhere past halfway (I imagine now would be a good time to remind myself of exactly where ). Both have cancellation deadlines of 6 PM that night, so by then I ought to know how it's all going to turn out.

I'll be doing the 2-day ride with 6 friends. No livestrong wrist band, maybe I'll have to pick one up.

I am going to be staying in Centralia for the 2 dayer. Friday night looking for that pasta feed at a local that heeds infamous delectable delirium and brews then early good night to be out of the start gates early the next day.

Slow 1 dayer here. Just hoping to survive. I don't have a Livestrong but I'll be riding the white Davidson in my sig with a brown Brooks Swift instead of a Flite. Should be fairly easy to spot.

Why don't we just scrawl a scarlet BF on our bib numbers or something? I just picked up my packet today. I'm number 4731.

Ya'll have a safe ride, I'm really hoping that either next year or the year after I'll have the chance to come up to the Pacific N.W. and do this ride.
