Keo pedal owners: What cleat do you use?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Keo pedal owners: What cleat do you use?

I used to use the red 9 degree cleats, and I got tenderness in my right knee sometimes. Swithced to the 4.5 degree grey and they felt confining at first, but I noticed that the knee pain went away.

My greys have a crack in one and need to be replaced.

Tempted to try the black zero degree float.

Anybody use these? How do they feel?

Using grey cleats without any hassles.

Remember that knee pain can be caused by a million other things than malrotation of the knee.

Excessive supination/pronation in the ancle can cause increased stress on either medial or lateral knee chamber. Cold, big gear crunching, incorrect saddle height etc. etc.

I'm using the red ones now. They seam to have little too much float, so I going to try out the greys.

Using the gray, love 'em.
I switched to the Keos from speedplay x/5's, I feel much more solid on the bike, and my knees are happier...guess for too much float can be a problem... although I did ride the x/5s for 3 years...

It took me a ride or 2 to get the cleat right, On the first ride I stopped after about 3 miles and tweaked....but now they seem right.

Gray. No reason for me to have more float or less for that matter. The gray ones work great for me.

OK, Im confused. I thought the float was a function of the pedal, not the cleat. Can anyone explain this to me?

No, it is the shape of the cleat and how it rotates on the pedal body that limits the amount of float.
Make sure you check your cleats guys. My grey ones developed a crack that I just found. I could only find reds locally so they are on my shoes now but I have yet to try them

Just switched to Keo's. My salesperson suggested grey. Seemed fine to me on my test ride.
