Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good bike shop in Vancouver, BC?

I bought my current bike at La Bicicletta but it seemed like they were just trying to rush a sale and weren't really concerned with proper fitment, as has been made abundantly clear as I'm starting to do longer and longer rides. Can anyone recommend a good shop, perhaps even a particular person, where I can be sure that I get the bike and components I need rather than what is in stock and on the floor?

Thanks!

Too bad you're not in Victoria, as I would send you to Straight Up Cycles on Quadra. I've heard good things about La Bicicletta, but have never shopped there myself. I've also heard good things about Dizzy Cycles in Kits.

Go see Scott at Campione cycle. if you want another opinion on your ride. Good guy, good racer and knows what works.. I would also talk to the people at La Bicicletta and let them know what you are having trouble with. They sold you the bike and they will look after things for you as would any good bike shop. Money talks and when it walks they lose out and they don't want bad pr going around about themselves. CAll and check with the boss and explain your situation. Good luck.
