End of March usually is in the low single digits, chance of rain or snow.

That's good to hear about the saddle, as this bike is going to be more for the long weekend rides.

Thanks Serpico. The Bars are Cinelli 64's that I got from 55/Rad. The Stem is a 125mm Cinelli XA.

Hey Cuda, I suppose I should add Photos from my recent road ride with it.

These are from a 116 km solo ride out to Blackstrap Lake. I felt like I was taking a vintage Ferrari out for a Sunday drive down one of my favorite quiet roads, pure pleasure.

Great stuff Vipe! I rode my decidedly less classic but plenty old Miele up to Mt Baker yesterday, and was very pleased how it rode over the pebbly roads up there. Quiet roads, beautiful forests, wild mountains and raging creeks...essentially unchanged since my last ride up there 19 years ago.

You must have the cleanest hands in the planet as I see the tape and hoods are still pristine white. Mine are already a nice shade of brown despite cleaning from about 500 miles I've put in my bike. I guess the only difference is I put the miles in 20-35 mile increaments not 100 at a time.

Looking great as on day one though. Very very nice. Those tires are tubulars right?
Arguing with ignorant people is an exercise in futility. They will bring you down to their level and once there they will beat you with their overwhelming experience.

Love the pic of you riding thru the water reminds me of my Sunday ride. How do you keep everything so white? My saddle is turning brown with less than 1K km on it.

    Thanks Rad & Gang!

Starclimber, that sounds like a beautiful ride on a beautiful classic, great story!

dgasmd, those are actually clinchers, however they are the Vittoria Evo CX Open Tubulars. They are quite a bit rounder than a regular clincher, and it's stunning how in the photos above they look like a tubular on the rim. They are fantastic tires.

Clausen, I don't ride the bike everyday, so that probably helps

That's a stunning, classic ride, and the analogy to a Ferrari out for a spin is apt.
I still ride early '80s vintage Super Record daily on my Masi (with clips n'straps, thanks)!
You can sure pile mileage on Campagnolo parts.
Just get back up on the bike. That'll heal in no time...

Thanks! That Super Record Masi sounds like one sweet special ride as well. I really like Super Record components. I think the Ti Super Record rear Derailluer is one of my all time Favorites

I love seeing project bikes like this one. It almost gets me excited for snow to come so I can tear down my steel bike for a total rebuild this winter and custom paint (by yours truly). Already getting parts together for new wheels. so fun. It's not quite of the vintage of your fine Italian machine, but I may throw on a campy front hub to make sure there's a little soul in it
Maybe I'll make my way over to Saskatchewan for a BF Canadian Prairies ride some time, I'm out there for a weekend every once in a while, but that's usually down in Regina.

I never chimed here in this thread despite viewing this thread many many times as inspiration for my own Italian project bike. Now with my bike finally finished, first, thank you for getting myself, a 19 year old fellow cyclist to appreciate cycling heritage and to strive to obtain it myself, and finally I will actually say, Sweet bike ViperZ!

    So, Viper.

Long time no talk, two of the bikes I added to my collection this year.

Neither of them are Italian, but I like them anyway.

A custom MX Leader, extended seat tube and head tube, NOS - never built before I got my hands on it (my new favourite ride)

And a Merckx Titanium AX. I am trying to find some decals for the AX, then I'll strip it and polish it.

Now I am on the hunt for an EX.
