Shut up you bitter media hound. Its a shame that when you won the tour 3 times that you didn't get on the tonight show, I feel for you. Is it just me or does everyone find him pathetic, and by the way, he was doping back in the day, they didn't have tests for it back then.
By the way, I do love your bikes Greg... just otherwise shut up.
Thank you

I don't know but didn't Greg come out and say he was happy that someone that was clean won the tour...too funny.
Wait maybe that was Frankie Andreu.

Lemond changed the sport in America basically by himself. How many Americans were riding the tour 1st time he did it? How many lame Sunday riders in America switched to clipless pedals when he started doing it? If you were around in the 80's, cycling was very obscure, especially races. I was wearing wool shorts and he came around wearing spandex. That was cool!

taken from velonews:
Landis's compatriot Greg LeMond, a triple Tour de France winner, said he was stunned by the news.
"I'm devastated and extremely disappointed," LeMond told AFP. "I can't imagine the disappointment for Floyd and his family. I really did believe Floyd was clean.
"The problem is the sport is corrupt and it corrupts everybody. I still believe it was one of the cleanest Tours ever. But is it 100-percent clean? No.
"You will always find riders who transgress the laws. I really did believe Floyd was not among them, that he was clean. Hopefully, he will be able to step up and tell the truth."
I don't know, does it sound like he's ready to nail Floyd to the cross? I love Lemond as rider, but that doesn't say much about him as a person.

think about alot of atheletes and actors and famous people you hear about. they are all a$sholes. you have to remember that he did win three times. and also got shot by a SHOTGUN. and the dude still has buck shot aka pieces of lead in his body. if he wasnt shot and had a team that supported him the whole way he could have won a few more tdf. he was one of the first to incorporate areodynamics and new revolutionary ideas.
so lay off him, his bikes are still bad ass as all hell. i love my sarthe

Lemond can comment because he has ridden the tour many times and is a 3x winner..
Lance really brought cycling into the mainstream with his 7x wins.. To give you some perspective, when Lemond won the tour in 1986 the Sports Illustrated cover that week should easily have been the 1st american to win Tour de France, no the cover went to a disgruntled Red Sox pitcher named Oil Can Boyd..
It wasn't until Lemond won again in 1989 and 1990 that the sport of cycling was even recognized much here in the states..

However, as someone who has been a racing fan for over 20 years, I do recall that LeMond was an outspoken advocate of INCREASED drug testing while he was competing in the 80's. This was not a popular view at the time, especially among many of the other pros. Keep in mind that this was long before Operacion Puerto, or the scandals with the Festina, Cofidis, or Kelme teams. Riders such as Paul Kimmage and Gilles Delion who spoke out about doping were often accused of being bitter mid-level pack fodder who blamed their lack of success on others doping. There was often an attitude that doping was either necessary, common, or both. "Don't ask, don't tell" could have summed up the unwritten policy of the peloton. Eddie Borysewicz, who was the coach of the USCF National Team has written that LeMond wouldn't even take vitamin injections while he was in the USCF program. I'm sure LeMond had access to many questionable products and practices during his career. However, unless you have some evidence that LeMond actually doped, I suggest you heed your own advice to him.

boy, it doesn't take much for Greg to throw you under the bus does it? One hint of a possible infraction and all of a sudden it's "Oh well, that's too bad Floyd's dirty."
Holy jumping to conclusions, Batman!
I guess that shows you what kind of person LeMond really is though.

Seriously, If I was an american and won the tour, I wouldn't want him anywhere near me. I don't care how great he is on a bike, he is a buddyf***er. I would never want him to be my friend or to claim me as one

The only person I heard of doping back in the 80's was Mark Whitehead. I saw him on a race in Central Park once. Everyone was laughed when he married Rebecca Twig. Miss America meets Mr. Doper was what everyone was saying.

Lemond is a hack plain and simple. He still tries to get his minute on TV and takes the 'everyone is out to ge me' victim attitude.
