Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Al has built many frames for locals out here in Santa Barbara, including me. Everyone I know who has one is way satisfied.
His stuff has always been well designed for whatever task desired and the 'make' has always been top drawer. And his paint jobs are bulletproof .
I lost touch with him back in the later 90's (when I got off the bike for an extended period) and just recently heard he had moved to Santa Cruz area and consequently also found his site (as you noted).
Not sure what he's building in at the moment (steel + ??), but he'll listen closely and really work over the design with you. A+++ for AL

I'm sold. Very responsive, seems like a nice guy. Six weeks to completion.

I'll post pix when the frame/fork come in. Every day commuting, here I come.
