Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm kidding of course in my prior post, it's really hard to say if that's a great deal because there weren't any specs on that link you posted. Giant make very good bikes, I know a lot of people who ride their frames and have good things to say.

I built a couple of the Giant TCR-1 bikes and was very happy with the ride and value. I recommend a test ride before purchase to make sure you get the sizing corect sense they only offer 4 sizes.

not a huge fan of 2 material bikes. if you're in the US you can get a full TCR Comp for that price, although i doubt you are if you can get hold of an alliance.

fwiw a buddy of mine has one (he got the frame directly from giant and built it up with spare parts he had kicking around). he uses it as his winter bike.

I agree................the componetry was not listed other than FD/RD and would need more to judge. As far a Giant goes...............great bikes. My neighbor I ride with has one that is all carbon that is a nice ride.

I smoke him however on my Pedal Force!

It seems a bit heavy at 9.2kg, the chain set is relatively unknown

This model looks like its got a carbon top tube and seat stays, If there is not much of a price difference
I'd have a look at some of the TCR full composite frames as suggested by the other posters.
