frame size help needed
I currently ride a Trek 1000 Road bike (frame size C-T 60cm), but that one is too small. The distance between the top of my seat and center of the bottom bracket is around 86cm (which means a stand over of 110cm).
I'm about to buy a new Trek 7.3FX (a bike from their Fitness series), but I don't know if the frame is supposed to be about the same size, bigger or maybe even smaller.
I ordered a 22,5", but after having done some research I'm leaning more towards a 25". With a shorter stem that should work. If I change my mind soon I'll be able to change the 22,5 into a 25".
My guess is that with a 22,5 the handlebar drop will be too large.
BUT does anyone know if the fitness bike frame is supposed to be smaller or bigger than a road bike?
I hope someone can tell what the best frame size would be for the 7.3 FX...
my length is 191cm /6'3
my inseam is 94,5cm
torso: 65cm
Thanks in advance,
Linda

Try getting a fitness bike with the handlebar reach about the same as your road bike, but perhaps a little higher. Look at the top tube length dimensions on the geometry charts.

You're tall.
Ask the bike shop for a sizing recommendation. If they won't, or if they don't seem to know what they're talking about, find another bike shop.

Thanks for your reply.
The tob tube of the 25" is only 1 cm longer than my current road bike, which has a 11cm stem. With a 10 or 9cm stem the 25" will be a perfect fit I think.
