Philly to Montreal Road trip, recommended rides along the way?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Philly to Montreal Road trip, recommended rides along the way?

I am planning on doing a road trip from my town of Philadelphia to Montreal and back next month. Its not going to be on bicycle, but I will be bringing my bicycle along. I've got about 7-10 days to do it, but only plan on being in Montreal for one weekend so the rest of the time I want to go to random spots in new england/canada to do nice day rides. Any suggestions on places to go? I would prefer nice park settings, especially where I can camp as I will be either sleeping in my car or in a tent. thanks!

Eastern Townships region of Quebec is great. Check out Velo Quebec for maps.

I don't have a specific road ride in mind, but devote a few days to the Adirondack Park. Plenty of camping and, I am sure you could put together some excellent rides there.

Ride some of the gaps in Vermont - Six Gaps is a long one.
You can also do a nice 70 mile loop - Waitsfield to Waitsfield - down Rt. 100 to Rt. 125 over Middlebury Gap - up 116 to 17 over Appalachian Gap back to Waitsfield

Anywhere in VT is nice... along Rt. 100 is prime cycling / tourist / VT goodness.
Also check out Stowe and the State park there... and Burlington for "urban lite", Huntington area is nice, as well as Montpelier.
You can also head across the lake to the Adirondacks - Ausable Rive valley is great, Lake Placid, etc.

Also check out Lake Champlain Bikeways
