Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Old Groupsets

Does anyone know where I could find groupsets that are either NOS or like-new? I'd love to upgrade the 105 set on my C'Dale to something a little better, it's a seven speed Cannondale. I've tried Ebay and Cleveland has about 3 cyclists total, so Craigslist is limited only to kids bikes.

The potential problem you might face is that the spacing for 9-10 speed is wider than the 7 speed your C'dale has. I've heard you can't coldset the rear dropout spacing on those frames...

That's why he is looking for approximately 7 speed groups (aka old ones).

My bike has NGS, but buying a new group is tough when the common ones (C-Record, etc.) are expensive.
Just keep trying craigslist I guess, and maybe go to some garage sales. It took me two weeks of checking craigslist several times a day to find an older bike. Be persistent
