Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Buying a Cannondale R800

I am interested in buying a road bike after just riding a pretty basic mountain bike for several years. My friend's dad has a Cannondale R800 (I think it's a 2004) that he bought last year but hasn't ridden very much. He wants to sell it to me but neither of us know very much about bikes. Does anyone know what a reasonable price would be?

P.S. He bought it for $1300.

Yeah, I'd say $700 seems pretty fair, perhaps a little more if it's in near perfect condition and hasn't been ridden much.

If you don't know much about bikes make sure i8t will fit you or the purchase won't be worth it.

Try these sites for bicycle fit before you purchase. They will norrow the frame size choice down.
