Tire pressure dropped..ride improved
Yup..took some advice I read here and other places and dropped the tire pressure on my Rolf Vector Pros with Conti GP 3K tires from 120/110 to 100/90 (rear/front) and what a huge difference. Much more compliant, handling feels the same, effort feels the same, just a lot better ride. I'm about 225 right now and had no issues with flats. Tires did not seem to look much different from when I rode at the higher pressures. Nice free mod!!

I agree. Now I haven't been riding long and really for the past month or two haven't been riding much at all due to my training for a marathon this fall. But somehow I got talked into riding 3 Gaps this past weekend with a bunch of guys I know from a local team. I did pretty well for so much time off.
Anyway, they insisted I pumped to 115/120 and told me it would make a huge difference from my 100/105.
Maybe I am dumb but I didn't notice a thing. Then again after the first 8 mile climb I wasn't really worried about my tire pressure.

It depends on the kinds of surface you ride on. If you ride on nice, smooth pavement, then having higher pressure will reduce rolling resistance (traction) slightly. Unfortunately, most of us don't have that luxury, so we have to lower the tire pressure slightly.
