1996 Schwinn LeTour-Yes/No @ $200
I'm a newbie, 10 weeks or so now.
Doing ALOT of Forum Reading - GREAT place for info, THANKS.
Wed I got in 38 miles @ 15mph. with two stretch breaks in the middle on a 40pound steel ATB.
Time for a Road Bike but Very limited funds, (the kids college tuition).
Price range had me looking at 20 year old Chromoly, trek, raleigh, lemond, motobecane
So I have a chance to buy a 1996 Schwinn LeTour for $200.
Yes, I know it's not Chicago Schwinn since Pacific Bike swallowed them up but....
It seems like a solid bike, with Chromoly frame with Ultegra,Mavic rims&ShimanoRSX hubs,170mm crank,
DiaComp brakes & index shift on the brake levers.
I have some concern about fit being a little big, I'm 6'0". and 190lbs.with 33 inseam.
The bike I have is a 56cm with a 32" standover.(my seat stem is up about 4 inches now for pedal fit)
The LeTour is a 58 with 32.25 Standover
What's anybody think about value or fit??
