Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I took my bike in to get the wheels trued yesteday for my big race tomorrow. It is my favorite race, I have been training for it for months. While buying groceries and energy gels this evening I realized I had not picked up my bike................and the store was closed when I called. I almost puked when I realized what I had (or hadn't done). I guess I'll drink beer tonight and watch the 2006 paris Roubaix.

Oh my God, dude... you have my sympathy and pity. Stuff like that happens to the best of us...

I left a front wheel at home for a mountain bike race back in the day...

How stiff are Canada's burglary laws? How stealthy are you?

Bummer. To put a positive, uh...spin on it (sorry) -- use it as motivation to learn how to do your own repairs.

Most shops have a "in case of emergency" phone # to call. Worth a try anyway, I know my local shop would reopen for something like this.

I'd find the name of the manager through federal records, or if it's on the store's website, then look them up both online and in the local phone book. Call him and plead for him to meet you.. if nothing you'd establish a rapport with the bike shop.
