Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Who's doing Six Gap

Just curious who else is doing Six Gap? I had been planning to ride it pretty hard, but given my current fitness, weight, and the fact I'm doing a triathlon saturday, I think I'm going to take it easy and just enjoy the ride.

Are you doing the tri up in Blue Ridge. I was planning on doing the tri this weekend as well, but my knee is giving me problems. I may do 6 gap, but I doubt it. I will be at Lake Burton, GA, which is 45 min away from Dahlonega. I would like to jump in and do the 40 mile hogpen loop, but I dont want to infringe on the organized ride.

Actually, I'm just doing a sprint triathlon in my neighborhood in Jacksonville. But I'm anticipating being sore from the 5k run because I haven't run in 8 months.

There is a 3 Gap option, but I don't think it does Hogpen.

I never did Six Gap the whole time I was in ATL. When I move back I hope to do that and Mt Mitchell.

You're right. 3 Gap is only Neels, Wolfpen and Woodys.

Yeah,

I would like to do the leg close to my house. The 3 gap is a pretty good drive, considering I will already be coming from Greenville, SC. Just lazy like that I guess when there is great riding just off the doorstep.
