Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That was pretty cool. I think above all, I like the "simple" part.

I wonder why in the beginning, where they mention Campy's "1st in the world"s, they didn't mention brifters.

Oh, wait......

Interesting what Campagnola did about touting their TdF exploits. Floyd Landis won the Tour on Campy, and remains the Tour champion until his appeals are denied. But Campy can't exactly put that in their video. So they find another Phonak rider who won something, and who struck a pose similar to Floyd's fist pumping on Stage 18. I am not sure who the rider is, but the helmet he is wearing was that worn by Phonak up to the start of the Tour, but was changed at the Tour's start.

It is a cool video, but one wonders how much that vid has increased the price of those cranks.

Considering the cranks are cheaper than previous versions...... not much. You're a chump if you pay $600 for the Record crank (which is still cheaper than previous retail for record). That's retail! And those prices include the BB cups.

You can get 2006 Record Cranks for $150 now, the real chump is the guy who believes that the new system is really any better than the square taper system. (ooo yes, its 0.03% stiffer)

In Carbon? Link? You'd still need the BB for about $100 (The 2007 Record BB is only $45).

Totalcycling has Veloce Ultra-Torque cranks on sale for $155. I might wait to see what Centaur costs.

The 2006 Record aluminum crankset at $175 with BB at $100 is a super deal. It has been good enough for Tom Boonen to win plenty of races with it in 2006.

Campagnolo Record cranks in aluminium - some sprinters still prefer the rigidity of aluminium cranks. Boonen also uses Time's Impact pedals.

Hmmmm. Not so fast on this "up to 200 grams" lighter business, Campy. If you compare apples to apples (or Record Carbon to Record Carbon), the 2007 Ultra-Torque sheds a mere 28 grams.
