Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Weight Weenie skewers

I found some skewers on the internet a while back but can't find them anymore. I also seen these in person but don't remember the name.

They are the ultra light skewers that has a un-screwable lever.

Its not that I want to get these, I just want to show a friend.

Cycling News had tech coverage from the EuroBike show that included lightweight skewers.

German lightweights

One of the pervasive themes of this year's Eurobike show was the plethora of absolutely incredibly lightweight components on display from the usual suspects: AX Lightness, Schmolke, Lightweight, Carbon Ti, as well as a few others.

Ultra-lightweight bikes are all about the details, like CarbonTi's minimal skewers and assortment of alloy and titanium hardware. (These apparently weigh 45 grams)

I kind of like the Rolf Ti skewers I got with my Elan wheels. I think they are about 90g for both, and the handle is still big enough like a normal QR.

IMHO, featherweight bolt on skewers are about the stupidist idea ever. The only rationale I can imagine, is that they save weight, that is presumably desireable to people racing. However, no one would race with them, because of the difficulty in changing a wheel. Truely form over function.

Well, the CarbonTi website lists distributors:

https://www.carbon-ti.com/distributoren.html

Which for the U.S. is Hi-Tech-Bikes:

https://www.hi-techbikes.com/ww2/cat/...ents&cf=hitech

Which stocks lightweight skewers, but I did not see any of CarbonTi's
