Shimano 105 front shifter problem
So I just got a brand new Felt F-75. I've gone for a few rides on it, and have been playing just a little bit with the front derailleur adjustment screws because it hasnt' been shifting from small to large ring very well. Today, I was out riding for 5 mins, shifting back and forth between big and small rings a few times, when the chain came off on the crank side. Well after this, I no longer get any response from my front shifters. When I try and shift back to small ring, the shifter has no resistance and just feels like it's not attached to anything. I'm obviously on the large ring, and that shifter even though it obviously can't be shifted is rock tight, it has almost zero movement to it. Can someone please give me some advice or help. I am new to road bikes, and would really like to gain some experience in fixing these types of problem. Thanks for your help.
PS. Here's a link to the bike's spec page so you can see what's on it.

Take it into the shop. They'll take care of it, and if you ask they'll be happy to let you watch them work. It's a great way to learn about bike mechanics as well as what the problem was. It should be a simple job.
Don't screw around with it too much yourself. STI shifters are delicate and hard to repair. Once I was mucking around with my old Sora front shifter when my derailleur was doing something similar. I pushed the brake lever over and suddenly, pop! A chip of plastic flew off of the shifter and my cable was suddenly poking out the other side of the brake hood. I was freaked out, and I thought I'd have to buy a new shifter.

When a bike is new, the cables stretch and go way out of adjustment sometimes. Take it back, then make sure and take it back for your free 30 day tune up too!
When the cables stretch, it can make a big difference. Enough to make you think your bike is shot!

If your chain came off, then your limit screws need attention. They're two little screws on the front derailleur. One keeps it from going in too far and the other keeps it from going out too far. Nobody ever remembers exactly which one is which.
Derailleur adjustment is an operation you should know how to do yourself, especially if you have STI shifters. My front shifter is friction, so I almost never need to worry about it. So when you take the bike to the LBS to have it looked at, insist on them letting you see how they fix it.
There are no user servicable parts or mechanism in STI shifters themselves. If one is broken, then hopefully it's covered under warranty.
