Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Any good parts in italy?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if you can get better quality and cheaper parts over in Italy then the US. My parents are currently in Italy and I was wondering if I should ask them to bring me back stuff. Not sure how it is with biking but I know if I go to Japan I can get car parts at half the price and ten times the quality. is it the same for bikes in italy? If so what would be something good for them to bring me back? Not to expensive or large (no full bikes lol).

Thanks

Many things made in Europe can be bought cheaper in the States. Sales tax in Europe is very high.

Yes, you can get deals on full bikes, but no great buys for parts. Better off using probikekit.com and just having stuff shipped. Clothing is a little cheaper for the Italian companies, but again, not that cheap. You can do a VAT refund, but it seems like a PITA.
