Had to laugh at "The Knave" Sunday afternoon...
Hard to believe that it has been almost one year now since the epic story of "The Knave Chronicles" here.
While out on a solo 43-mile ride Sunday, I saw him coming at me from the other direction. The only thing that changed about him was the fact that the rear rack and canvas bag were gone from his squeaky, ugly little bike. Other than that, typical Knave. No looking up...just pedal away in your shorts and sweatshirt.
The funny part was on the way back.
This time I saw him coming back from the opposite direction, totally hooked on the back of what I imagined to be an unsuspecting roadie. The guy up front seemed to just be riding a normal pace, not really pushing hard or anything, while the Knave was firmly hanging on his wheel, pedaling like a mad man back there.
All I could think about was the epic battles of the past...the lore of the entire story...and how this poor guy up front had no idea what he was in for with his new riding 'pal' back there.
The Knave, now crushed and demoralized by Hip, has moved on to find new prey.
