Valve extender question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Valve extender question

I bought a brand new set of tubular Zipp 404's. They came with new Continental Sprinter tires pre-mounted. They do not have Valve extenders installed and therefore only have a tiny bit of the presta valve coming out of the 404 rim. Is there anything I can do, other than pulling off the tire and starting over? If I have to pull off the tire, will this ruin the brand new tire? Or can I reinstall it with a valve extender installed?

Thanks.

I included pics to show you what I mean.

AFAIK, you can teflon-tape the original valve open, then screw on a short extender... some extenders have valves built in, or just use the cheapest you can find that works...

Buy tubes with the ext. valves. That is what I do and then add the shrader adapter for checking air pressure with my air guage for my car!

I would just pick up the threaded valve extender and put on any time you need to use the stem. I picked up one from my LBS for a few bucks. I think it was even a Zip branded stem extender.

Yea, this is what I would do if I were you. Since you have part of it sticking out... just carry a valve extender with you... slap it on and inflate. Ideally, you'd pull the tire, install a good valve extender (one that moves the valve to the end of the extender... the other ones that just add on are worthless), and reglu the tire.

Here's the clue:

The idea is to help someone, not start a really interesting conversation.
