Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Saddle to Seat Drop

So what's your drop? I've been playing around a bit, but think I'm dialed in at around 3-1/4".

3" / 7.62cm

I want to try lower for racing, but will need a smaller frame (head tube) to do so.

6cm = 2.4"
This seems to work well for me.

Mine was over 3" but that was too much at the time. But that was also before I started shopping for a saddle that supports me well and doesn't leave saddle sores. I'm comfy now, but may lower the bars a bit next race season. I'm pretty gun-shy about it given the saddle sore that I had from before Memorial Day until early August. The saddle is a big part of it, no doubt, but the fit is just huge.
