Assos bib sizing

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Assos bib sizing

Ok gane need a bit of help here. I admit it...I am a clydesdale...that said I am looking at the Assos bibs and wondering about the size. All of their sizing is based on height other than the TIR size which says it is for larger 6'4"-6'5"+ but wider. Well I am 5'10" so the XLG and TIR would leave a lot of slack in the straps I would think....but I am worried that since I am a bit wider than most cyclists buying based on my height might be far too small in the waist.

In PI bibs an XL fits great to even a bit loose. Performance bibs the XL fits pretty good. Santini the XXL (again bibs) is a bit tight in the legs but fine in the waist. I am thinking XL in Assos even though it is for a little taler rider. Thoughts. 5'10" with a 38" waist.

Thanks

Oh add to that this chart from Competitive Cyclist

Edit to fix the Santini size

I think Assos bibs are a bit more snug than other brands. Mine seem to be a bit tighter than my Giordana and Decathlon bibs which are, theoretically, the same size.

botto - LOL back in that other thread...actaully ElementONE was the jacket I was thinking of. Will that be too similar to the Gator I got? Sounds like maybe I should go with the IntermediateEVO for the jacket...at least I know my size in the jackets.

i've got the elementone as well. it's nice, but 1. it's more a winter-ish jacket IMO, and 2. the only real difference between it, and any other roubiax jacket is the the superior assos cut.

the intermediate really is the way to go. but i've probably made my feeling clear by now.
