Flies in the eyes.
I find it really uncomfortable to wear sunglasses while riding, can any of you experts advise how I can ride without glasses but keep the flies out of my eyes, I tried spraying insect repellant in my eyes but after the first eye it hurt so bad and I could'nt see out of it for 10 minutes I stopped that, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try to keep the area around your eyes clean, you know......no food stains and such. Flies are attracted to that. Also, dont use insect repellant. I tried that too, and though it kept the insects away, it also kept everything else away, including my sight.
try using 'pine-sol' around your eyes, that may help
good luck

Too uncomfortable to wear any glasses so clear lenses will still annoy me. Pin-Sol sounds good I'll try some of that in the eyes and see how I go.

That might be worth a try.

What we do here Downunder is wear a hat with corks dangling off the brim, and soak the corks in a mixture of Eucalyptus oil and vegemite. One of the few old wives tricks that actually works.

Perhaps you could get some spiders to live in your eyebrows (or eyebrow??) and they can eat the flies for you.
There was an old lady who tried something similar......

You can also take extra B12 - apparently they don't like the scent of it.

Thanks for the replies, amusing stuff. Can't believe anyone warranted this post with a response, good example of the crap I've been reading on this forum.
Should i use carbon bottle cages?
How many flats this year?
Is a dork disk dorky? I used tin snips to remove it because I'm more interested in looking good than being good.
This is the best one from Rowan "You haven't got a tattoo across your forehead, have you? Something that says: "Idiot"?"
You responded to this nonsense and I'm an idiot.
Obviously US school yard murderers are killing the smart people and letting all the dumb people walk around the US and spread tainted DNA. LOL
