San Lorenzo Deal
Through a racing team im on I am able to get the Bianchi San Lorenzo Frame and Fork for $700. This is a great deal im sure , they tell me its about half of retail. I am currently riding a 2005 Specialized Allez Elite, which is an aluminum bike. I love my Allez dont't get me wrong but, its pretty heavy for somebody who races.
My questions are, How much will i expect to pay if i want to build it up with Ultegra or Durace? I might be getting a deal through the team on comonents. Im not sure exactly what the deal is. I guess im gonna have to buy a seat and stem/handelbars and a crank and wheels ect.... What should i expect to pay if I want to keep the bike light and preforming well?

I know that you can get a full DA group for a little under 1000 from probikekit, and I think ultegra is about 670. The team deal may beat that or not. The San Lorenzo is 1250 retail, so that is pretty good price on the frameset.
With respect to components, you just have to see what they offer and go from there. You could always order a Bikesdirect with Ultegra, ritchey wcs, and AC 420's for 1300 and strip it.

San Lorenzo's seem to be the Bianchi issue club race bike. They can be had fully rigged with the issue D/A and k's for less than $2k used one season. I just saw a local retailer advertising a NOS '05 for $2100. I'd look very closely at the discount on the build kits. Generally a good build is $2k and up.
