Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Flyte SRS-1

I'm building up an SRS-1 this fall. I've already purchased the frame and some Rolf Echelon wheels.

I'm thinking I'll do SRAM Force and Easton EC90 fork, bars and post. Are there any other SRS-1 owners out there? How are your bikes built up? Which headset did you go with? How are you feeling about the bike in general?

Thanks!

The owner of Flyte rides the SRS1 with the Eston EC90 fork, Bontrager carbon stem and I think Easton bars, but I will have to double check. If I'm not mistaken, he uses an FSA headset with FSA seat post and Fizik saddle. His group is DA and his wheels are either Ksyrium ES's or Carbone's (depends on his mood). The bike is super fast and accelerates like a jack rabbit, I know this because I get to watch it leave me like a rocket ship. I am also planning on building an SRS1 this winter hopefully with full DA.

What's up with Flyte? How come they aren't offering complete bikes anymore?

SRS-1 is a very hot bike. I built mine this past September.

You want an FSA Orbit CF, BTW, if you haven't gotten a headset yet. That's the headset that Jamie and the Flyte gang recommend. I posted my impressions of the SRS-1 to this thread:

Post some pix if you get a chance.

I know this thread is long dead but I am trying to find out the MSRP value for the SRS1. I purchased an unbuilt one on Ebay a few years ago and recently had some movers crack it. They will pay a replacement value but with the company out of buisness and all I need to prove to them that it was a higher end carbon frame first. Thanks.
