Could this saddle be better than brooks?

Wow, that's like almost as long as Brooks has been around right?
Golly, it even has a tensioning adjustment like Brooks!
I'm guessing there are more than few Brooks out there with 40,000+ miles on them!
The shape is disturbing--looks like sitting on a venus fly trap.

Search the archives on this seat. I was looking at getting one last year, but found the customer service lacking in helping me make a decision. They said they would take it back if I didn't like, but I wasn't interested in paying for shipping both ways multiple times to find out which one would be best for me. I don't know if they still have the video on their site, but when you watch it, you realize that the sitz bones aren't taking the majority of the weight; which to me that seems to be the reason to get a tensioned leather saddle.

I took a look at their web-site and my immediate impressions were that although the saddles look quite pretty, I could think of a number of things quite dear to me that I wouldn't want to get caught in the crack. 
BTW Brooks have been making real leather saddles for the past 140 years, which is about 136 more than Selle An-Atomica™ (by their own admission - see their site)

PS - I just checked their web-site again, and there are indeed pictures of their prototypes; and lo and behold, they are indeed butchered Brooks Swifts and Team Pros (although they did make a nice neat job, I'll give them that). I wonder what the folks at Brooks think about what they're doing (patents, ™s etc…)

I have talked with these folks a handful of times ... by end of Spring 2007, they are going to be MFR'g their own ... and will stop using the Brooks. I'm waiting till that time ... and then I'm going to pull the trigger and try one.

The whole concept of a Brooks saddle is that it conforms to your butt, and therefore doesn't put pressure where you don't want it. A cutout would therefore be superfluous to a well broke in Brooks saddle.
While the cutout adds no value, presumably it would decrease structural integrity, and as pointed out above looks to have the potential to pinch, and (pardon the pun) is butt ugly.
Half baked idea that sounded good, and looked good on the Cocktail napkin, which should have been left in the Bar.
