Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i was curious as to how much this bike has changed in the last 6 years. is there much difference between an all aluminum tcr today and one from 2000?

if you had the choice between the ocr1 or the tcr2 which would you pick??
both are similarly priced and have much the same specifications.

just wondering what the difference would be in riding them.

dont know much about the differences between the tcr and ocr lines but i think the ocr line in general has a much more upright riding position than the tcr.

anyone know if the tcr team has changed much in the last 6 years?

It is my opinion as an OCR owner that a stock configured OCR (circa 2005+ with stock stem) is the most upright of the comfort / performance bikes on the market. Bike stands up very tall. The TCR's geometry is much more aggressive.

They really are very different bikes.

If I am not mistaken the bikes have changed very little through the years. The composite OCR's are new as of 2005 and have made only minor changes in the composition.

I just sold my 2001 a few weeks back.. 1" steerer to the more common 1 1/8" steerer. Might have been integrated for a bit and might not be now. I think the geometry is pretty similar though.

how different is the geometry on the ocr and tcr? is one stiffer than the other? could you get the same riding position on the ocr with new bars/headset?

i really like Giant and its tuff to find a good deal on a used tcr so i was thinking of looking at the ocr bikes if i could still get an agressive position out of them.
