Please explain my Performance invoice

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sweet, thanks. Here's hoping I ordered the right size on those Ultra shorts. I'm a 32, so I should be a Medium, but the word on the forums is to go up a size with these particular shorts, if not two sizes

I wear a 32-34 pant size depending on the brand, so I usually fit into a medium short size. I bought some Ultra shorts today in a large so I think you should be fine. As you've heard, with Performance shorts, their sizing gets smaller as you go higher up the scale. Their classic shorts come up to my navel in a medium, I could probably squeeze into a small. I'm a medium in their century shorts, a large in their ultra shorts, and a xl elite short felt too tight so I'd probably need a xxl.

Looks like you paid $44.22. Not sure I agree with going up a size on the shorts though. I'm a 34 and wear a large (in the bib version) and they are by no means too small. Sometimes I think I can go with a medium. They have a good return policy though.

My first Performance invoice confused me too. You paid $44.22. They show you the total invoice amount of $64.22 at the top, then show you how you paid that amount below. Your credit card was billed $44.22 and $20 was covered by the web coupon. Check your CC statement and you'll see $44.22 on there.

Thanks for the clarification. As for short size, IMO too tight is worse than too loose. If the short starts to slide off, that's just more motivation for me to bulk up those quads

There's been a lot of talk about Ultra's on this forum. I have been one of the ones saying, "they're supoposed to be tight...compression, etc." Thing is I found out what the whole fuss was about. Turns out Performance COMPLETELY changed the cut of the Ultra shorts for this year. They are more European in cut. 2005 "L" = 2006 "XL". 2005 "M" = 2006 "L", etc...

I didn't believe all of the fuss until I bought my upteenth pair of Ultras (my first pair of 2006s) in size "L" like all of my other pairs, and I couldn't even get them on. Un-real. I was pissed and talked to our local PBS store associate telling him about the complaints on here, and now my affirmation that something is definitely amiss...he smiled, knoded and confirmed that people generally hate the new sizing.

Good luck....oh and you only paid $44. Putting the full $64 on it is a way of invoicing that makes their internal reporting look better (higher sales totals).

So if I need to do an exchange, do I have to pay shipping to and from them? That would kind of nullify the $20 off...

Pretty sure you pay for shipping to them and they pay for shipping the replacement to you.

Unless they send you the wrong size you pay shipping back and to again!

I wonder if you could find a friend who needs the size you ordered, have him order your size, and then trade!

Update: I got my Large size Ultra shorts today and they fit great. As I said, I'm a Medium according to the performance chart, but the large seems to be perfect
